I stepped toward the icy cold stream waters, pant legs rolled up, barefoot, one toe in. Whew!
I screeched, “That’s cold!”
In moments my foot was back on the ground. I had anticipated cold, but that was an unexpected- chilling, even for this hot day. I pondered whether I wanted to attempt a dousing. I weighed the cost.
I could take the cold challenge or I stand robed in jeans and way too many clothes for this 100 degree murky day. I was over dressed! But I was way too embarrassed to be wearing ‘butt shorts’ as I call them, in public.
What did I have to loose? Sweat was already drenching me. I would have to tough out the last few hours to home in a hot vehicle with a/c that seemed more like blowing hot air.
Here I go!
I mustered up enough nerve! Holding my breath and with a short aggggh of a scream! I plopped my whole self in and sat down.
*Letting the clear cold stream waters flow over me, over my mind, over all that seemed to be troubling me. It felt good! It felt really goood! Good to be free; to let it all go.
What’s holding you back?
What are you afraid of?
Weigh the risk.
Is the ultimate outcome worth taking the challenging risk?
You can. You must. With God on your side, what do you have to fear?
YES, WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS:
Romans 8:31 WHAT, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against Us?
